Social Responsibility Action Center
As National Dong Hwa University plays a vital role in Eastern Taiwan—cultivating talent, advancing academic research, enriching culture, and driving industrial progress—it also bears the responsibility of serving society and contributing to national development.
This initiative aims to leverage information technology to drive local innovation, enhance community value, and foster regional transformation. To meet local needs and support talent development, the project will offer tailored courses aligned with regional priorities, creating a synergistic effect where implementation and education deliver impact greater than the sum of their parts—fulfilling the university’s commitment to social responsibility. Additionally, the project seeks to build digital cultural content for local sites and apply big data analytics to develop and execute smart marketing strategies, supporting regional revitalization.
These three strategic directions align with National Dong Hwa University’s five mid- to long-term development goals:
Creating a distinctive university environment and shaping a sustainable, multicultural campus
Advancing innovative research and strengthening teaching and learning systems
Enhancing faculty development and establishing growth frameworks
Focusing on student career development and deepening learning outcomes
Integrating natural and cultural resources to promote balanced development in Eastern Taiwan
Corresponding UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) include:
Quality Education
Decent Work and Economic Growth
Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Sustainable Cities and Communities
◆ Integrate technology and business model design to effectively motivate students for cross-disciplinary autonomous learning.
◆ Commercialize “technology, circularity, tangible goods, and experiences,” enabling the Boundless Cooperative to vertically link “Producers → Sites, Consumers → Faculty, Students, and the Public, Products → Technology and Services.”
◆ Incorporate low-carbon experiential travel, circular agriculture and livestock, and smart communities into a shared green economy, forming a networked exchange platform.
◆ Promote zero-carbon operations and a net-zero lifestyle for a sustainable campus.
