Social Responsibility Action Center
National Dong Hwa University plays a vital role in eastern Taiwan by nurturing talent, advancing academic research, promoting cultural development, and enhancing industrial innovation. At the same time, it bears the mission of serving society and contributing to national development.
This project aims to promote local innovation through information technology, facilitating regional transformation and enhancing the value of local sites. Furthermore, to align with local needs and the goal of professional talent cultivation, tailored courses will be offered. Combined with the project’s implementation, these efforts are expected to create a synergistic effect greater than the sum of its parts, embodying the university's commitment to social responsibility. Lastly, the project will build digital content for local cultural fields using information technology and apply big data analytics to assist in the planning and execution of smart marketing strategies in various local sites, thereby supporting regional revitalization.
These three implementation aspects align with the five medium- to long-term university development goals of National Dong Hwa University, namely: "Creating a distinctive university environment and shaping a sustainable and multicultural identity," "Fostering excellent and innovative research and establishing a complete teaching and learning system," "Enhancing faculty professional development and establishing a faculty growth system," "Emphasizing student career development and deepening student learning," and "Integrating natural and cultural resources to promote balanced development in eastern Taiwan."
In addition, the corresponding UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are: "Quality Education," "Decent Work and Economic Growth," "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure," and "Sustainable Cities and Communities."
